PLAIDS ARE IN + GUIPIURE LACE

Plaids definitely made a very strong appearance in the NYFW. Looks went from oversized boxy shoulder jackets (Tibi) to tapered pants to scotch plaids in red & green by Victoria Beckham(I love that woman).

Welcome once again to my blog and it's about to get fall crazy once again. The weather on this side of town is still blowing warm so I'm thankful for that. As you all know how I feel about this season and styling here I couldn't help but feel that for 2017, fall fashion is taking us away from the norm and I'm not complaining. In fact I want to say a big thank you to Celine & Balenciaga who championed plaids last season and it's paying off. It's one of those looks that never died actually and it's a classic and a keeper.

Now one of the things you have to know about plaids is that they make you look prim. Think British & stuck up (no offense) and I also recall in those days as a child, your school uniform was  gingham or plaid. It wasn't happening any other way. We had them as pinafore dresses and A-lined gowns. For me it wasn't a big deal and I didn't love them neither did I hate them. But one thing that stuck though was it was always what mum and dad wanted you to wear for parties, visits, especially Sunday outings, for them it was the perfect outfit with white socks and ballerines for that perfect little girl, so you looked angelic all the time (oh brother 🙄) and you were the perfect example of a perfect child from a very perfect middle class family.

P.S. If I missed any just add it in the comment section ha ha ha

But let's get back to this wonderful fashion statement which has made a strong comeback and it's making me go gaga, I found a few tricks up my sleeve to making this fashion look work without all the above good girl look attributes but hey your style your choice.

So I decided to go sultry and wild. I paired mine with a black guipure lace top, which I absolutely adore. I kept the hair somewhat wild giving the look some bite. Makeup (get 20% off)  which was done by yours truly was bold with red lips and dark eyeliner with some gold eyeshadow. (Did I miss anything hehehe) And I finished off with this beautiful pair of shoes by Florence Foscatti and bag here. For accessories I'm wearing silver ring bracelet and necklace from juliettsstyleglam

Alternately, you could do tapered plaid pants and high heel pumps in black, if you would prefer a plaid top, go in with leather pants and tall knee length boots (sexy) or a plaid dress with tall boots or black pumps.

For me I feel that plaid looks especially in greys work well with blacks and burgundy;

Feel free to add other style tips as well.

Bisous.......

xoxo
